Model F

It's been a very long time that I have been wanting to sew something from the japanese book "stylish dress book" , at that time many were sewing the model T, which is very cute but looked difficult to me

Then I recently fell on this blog: La Fabrique de Vivie where Sylvie made the model F and shortened it, I think it looks great!

So here is my attempt at the F model, with instructions to make the front slit from Zabou (it's in french but pictures speak for themselves) without it I couldn't have made it, thanks Zabou!

Baby summer pants

Wow these days have been so hot! I didn't have enough summer pants for little one to wear but found a great tutorial to make some in no time, thanks to Rookie moms tutorial, here is my model showing off my first try :-)

Lille Bitte Fnugs Give Away havde mange vindere, faktisk  var hun så sød at give en gave til alle deltager!

Så her kom min, en baby-drenge buks, den er så fin! Mange tak Bettina (^-^) flot arbejde!

Boys month !

 Christine from the Frk Turkis blog has initiated a series of posts during the month of July related to Boys Stuff - the Boys Month, such a great idea, I'm looking forward to finding some nice inspiration to spoil my little boy :-)

I promised I would dedicate a post to the boys month and here is my contribution: a very boyish pram chain made of dinosaurs

I got the idea from Bettina "lille bitte fnug". I participated in a swap with her, where she gave me a very nice fabric rattle that can be seen here.

I was also very lucky to find this great cheap bed linen for kids at my local supermarket, so here we go with a little demo on how I did it :-)

I cut through the two layers of the bed linen, around the dinosaur

Put the two piece of fabric right sides together, and in between a ribbon folded in two

Sew around the edges, leave an opening at the bottom, cut slits at the curves and turn inside out

Fill in with fill stuff and sew the opening by hand

you can now populate the chain :-)
 

Felt cupcakes/muffins

I fell in love with the cupcakes of Pralerier's Give Away and their packaging! She used a real baker cake box and the muffins are so cute.

As I didn't get to be the lucky new owner of these sweets, I had to do some for me to enjoy (^-^)

Gavelegen - retur

Følgende nye regler til gavelegen, har jeg sendt en lille gave retur til lille bitte fnug, nogle filt-frugter.

Hun fik dem og var så venlig til at lægge en sød kommentar, tak (^-^).

Jeg har stadigvæk en plads til nogen der kunne have lyst til at lave en "swap" omkring  temaet Jordbær (?) - kan ses i mit tidligere indlæg

Homemade playdough --- the one for the architects!

Some time ago Jaydensmommy on youtube made a video tutorial on how to make homemade playdough, thought it was a really nice idea! So here I am trying to reproduce it ... but... as food colorants are banned in our household (._.) I started my first batch with "ecological" wheat, that's what the braun stuff on the table is made of. As it looked a bit too boring I decided to do another batch with some blackcurrant juice (Ribena) hoping the red-bluish color would color the dough... and the result: a very weird green color, but at least it's better than white

Luckily, my son didn't care too much and indulged in playing with me - and we had a lot of fun (^_~)

 This blog inspired me to try and design my own picture tag, to personalize the pics I take, here is a first try:

Baby shoes pattern + finish

Time to make baby shower presents... 

There is a baby shoe pattern on the web that is super popular from Stardust shoes : link to her tutorial, they are soooo cute!

But there is no indication on how to make the baby shoes somehow "seamless" i.e to sew a sole inside the shoes so as to hide the seams between the sole and the sides, so here is what I do:

Before turning the shoe right side out

I cut an extra piece of sole in the "lining" fabric and pin it on top of the shoe as seen above, so that this piece of fabric "sandwiches" the whole shoe.

Then I sew it (5mm from the border) and leave an opening to turn the shoe inside out, don't forget to cut slits all around the edge (this smoothes the curves when turned inside out)

Once turned inside out, sew the opening by hand, then turn the shoe right side out and you're done!

Gaveleg hos Lille bitte fnug

Jeg deltog i Lille bitte fnugs gaveleg og fik den her rigtig søde Giraf rangle! Mange tak Betina, den er så sød og gav mig lige lidt inspiration til et nyt projekt :-)

Desuden har jeg set at nogle nu spiller med nye regler, lige som f. eks en gaveleg jeg er med i hos  Frk Turkis.

Derfor har jeg besluttet mig også at ændre den her leg lidt denne gang.

1. Jeg foreslår at sende en gave til den første der melder sig - omkring et tema jeg vælger

2. Den der har meldt sig skal sende mig en gave omkring det samme tema

3. Hvis man har lyst til det, kan man viderføre legen på sin blog

Temaet bliver...... JORDBÆR!

Hvad siger I til det ? Håber nogen har lyst til at deltage i min gaveleg :-)

PS: Betina, du kan godt regne med at få en lille gave retur fra mig :-)

Patch sewing time

Elbow patch sewing time for two sweaters of Mr. Cool - He got very happy with the work done on the grey one :

 but totally disapproved of the result on the braun one... go figure...
