Sashiko embroidery coasters

We desperately needed to add some coasters to our collection, having lost two from this series, that was a gift from a friend, crafted in Poland but unfortunately can't remember the name of the company.

I did those with orange thread, inspired by sashiko embroidery coasters on etsy, here and here

Merry Christmas!

Some unexpected events forced us to stay home where we had not planned to have a christmas tree, luckily we managed to find one at the last minute this morning to add some xmassy flair to our living room :-)

And found a great xmas present packaging idea from Kandeejohnson

Now we are ready for Christmas! Glædelig Jul ! Joyeux Noel ! :-)

Windowsill cover

I spend nowadays most of my time on the sofa, breastfeeding our new son. And using the windowsill to store everything from the bottle of water, burp clothes, pacifier, iphone, computer to chocolates ... so I needed to protect it from this daily agression of mine

I fell in love with the Herringbone tutorial from Stitched in color, did two stripes and used one of them to create the windowsill cover

The Christmas series no 3

Next step, the wrapping paper, I used some christmassy stamps and used paint instead of ink, it gives it a very thick and cosy feeling.

I found this great tutorial by whimsicalities to make very quick mini pom-poms (via pinterest)

The Christmas series no 2

Found some raw wooden heart shaped tags in Netto, painted them with some kind of Ivory color, which goes very well with the black/cream thread I bought last year, and here comes my xmas tags for this year.

The Christmas series no 1

So is Halloween over, time to get ready for Christmas, if possible before no 2 pops out :-)
We tried to reproduce this very nice craft project from "Julie adore dimanche" but it didn't really work out by the book, the result is however nice too :-D

Here is my first attempt, I didn't use the transparent sheet to do it, but plan to have more iterations coming up :-)
