So the Crafts Beautiful magazine just arrived in my mailbox with a little leaflet with "summer crochet projects", where I found this crochet cupcake/muffin:
Unfortunately the instructions were not complete as there was no indication on where to switch color and on how to do the nice "corolla " around the cupcake...anyway I wanted to do a smaller cupcake, something that could be used as a present tag so here is my revisited version of the cupcake in a mini format (^-^)
row1: 4 sc. in an adjustable loop/magic circle - slip stitch to close the circle
row2: 2sc in each stitch (8 sts)
row3: *1 sc, 2sc* repeat 4 times (12 sts)
row4: *1 sc in next 2 stitches, 2 sc* repeat 4 times (16 sts)
row5: work 1 sc in each stitch around (16 sts), sl st the first st of the row then 1 ch
row6: change color and work 1sc in each stitch around (16 sts)
row7: *1sc in next 2 stitches, sc2tog* repeat 4 times (12 sts)
row8: work 1 sc. in each stitch around (12 sts)
row9: work 1 sc. in each stitch around (12 sts)
row10: work 1 sc. in each stitch around (12 sts)
------- fill the cupcake with filling material
row11: work only in the back loops: *1sc, sc2tog* repeat 4 times (8 sts)
row12: sc2tog in each stitch (i.e. 4 times), finish with a slip stitch, weave in the end
Then I crochet the corolla on the last row of the first color, as shown on the picture : *1 sc in the first "stitch" and 3 sc. in the next stitch* repeat until the end.
