Bunk bed decoration

We bought a bunk bed with a pirate theme for the kids' room, but we finally agreed that there was too much black for small children so decided to change theme and go for a "green-forestry" style instead, so I did some envelope pillow covers (tutorial from Crafty Gemini) and some loooooong green "sausage pillows" out of cheap blankets found at tiger.

Plush letter

Saw the georgeous letters done by sew and the city (via pinterest)
Luckily for me I had to do a C, would have been much more of a challenge to do an A
I just added a little dinosaur to pimp it

Gækkebrev - Easter card with yarn scraps

Had lots of  scraps from a recent project involving granny squares....
We just dipped the scraps in a solution of glue and water and let it dry, it sticks quite well to the cardboard

Barbapapa en papier mache

This project from Nounou Bricabrac took us a week to complete with drying times for the paper and the paint where my son could also get involved , it was lots of fun and the result is amazing, I think.. :-)

Clean painting with kids

Found this idea at Hippiehousewife, she calls it mess free finger painting and it is great for parents and for teaching them about colors and how they mix!

Puff (biscuit) Quilt tutorial

I first found last year this tutorial on the internet, a bit oldish but then while writing this post, I found this newly made tutorial from The Olsen Family, where she does all the stitching by machine which goes much faster, I'll try that one too! :-)

My Ikea-Tiger solution for the children's closet

We bought one of these infamous ikea-pax cupboards to host all the baby/toddler clothes. We used the shelving system that's 25 cm wide and found out that the baskets we get from "tiger" fit perfectly in that space, here is the final result with some very visual labelling

Sashiko embroidery coasters

We desperately needed to add some coasters to our collection, having lost two from this series, that was a gift from a friend, crafted in Poland but unfortunately can't remember the name of the company.

I did those with orange thread, inspired by sashiko embroidery coasters on etsy, here and here

Merry Christmas!

Some unexpected events forced us to stay home where we had not planned to have a christmas tree, luckily we managed to find one at the last minute this morning to add some xmassy flair to our living room :-)

And found a great xmas present packaging idea from Kandeejohnson

Now we are ready for Christmas! Glædelig Jul ! Joyeux Noel ! :-)

Windowsill cover

I spend nowadays most of my time on the sofa, breastfeeding our new son. And using the windowsill to store everything from the bottle of water, burp clothes, pacifier, iphone, computer to chocolates ... so I needed to protect it from this daily agression of mine

I fell in love with the Herringbone tutorial from Stitched in color, did two stripes and used one of them to create the windowsill cover
