Trip to Seville with a baby

With not too much preparation as usual... bought an a bit too old city guide the day before and off we go.... so first of all we didn't know there were direct flights from Copenhagen to Sevilla (with Air Berlin) so we travelled with SAS via Barcelona. We used a lift instead of the baby björn

and packed our stroller in an airshell bag (too bad these huge bags don't have little rolling wheels). I breastfed our boy at each take off and landing, seemed to work quite well.

Arrival to a nice little flat in the barrio of la Macarena - first buy on site : a sombrilla for the stroller, an indispensable

then a tour at the tourism office to have an idea of what tourist attractions were stroller-friendly which equals to say wheelchair-friendly -we found out it was ok to breastfeed in cafes – but I nonetheless used this technique to make it more private:

And here are the sites we could visit without any problem with the stroller:

• The Cathedral : there is a changing room for the baby

• The Alcazar though we could not visit all the rooms with the stroller

• Iglesia San Luis del Gran Poder – there is a restaurant on the plaza ”El Sardinero”

• Fine Arts Museum (sevillian painters)

• Mercado de Triana, there is a ramp just at the end of the "Elisabeth II" bridge

• We especially liked the atmosphere at the Plazoleta Bodega, C. San Juan de la Palma because there is a playing park for children and the restaurant was full of local families

• The alameda de Hercules is surrounded by cafes and a lively, family friendly atmosphere in the evenings (22:00)

• The cinema open air - noches de verano at the University of Sevilla

Our daily schedule was to visit in the morning from 10:00 to 13:00, eat at around 14:00 and if we were still in town at 15:00 take a taxi home as it starts to get really warm by that time. Then it was ”siesta time” and we were out again at 18:00 to enjoy the cool breeze before the sunset - some shops open until 21:00.

Private nursing solution - tutorial

When out, I used to breastfeed with a white cloth on my shoulder to hide naked skin but it often fell from there ... so to hold it tight I sewed a "two-sided" clip band that falls around my neck holding the cloth at the level of my chest.

Here comes an easy "drawn" tutorial:

You will need two "clips" and a "belt" ring

A strip of fabric twice as wide as the "belt" ring width (a) so that you are sure the strap made out of it will slide through the ring:

First fold the strip in half, right sides together and sew the open end (lengthwise), I usually leave 0,5 cm of seam allowance. Turn it inside out and press.

Then attach one end of the strap to the "belt" ring as so:

Slide in a clip on the strap-let it loose but pay close attention to have the top of the clip facing the same direction as the top of the "belt" ring, and then insert the strap again in the ring as shown on the figure:

Finally attach the second clip at the other end of the strap as so:

And here is how the final product can be used with any cloth of your choice:

Pink scarf tutorial

1. La base del pañuelo esta tejado a ganchillo, cada circulo representa un punto cadena (p.c.) Empieza con la primera linea, puedes hacer tantos p.c. que quieres para obtener el tamaño que te conviene.

No es una sciencia exacta, lo mas importante es obtener un motivo similar al dibujo.

2. Los cuadraditos sobre el pañuelo son hecho de tejido: corta dos pequeños cuadraditos de mismo tamaño y coloque ambos pedazos uno sobre el otro con el derecho de tela miráandose.

Haga una costura muy cerca del borde y deja una apertura para poder virar el cuadradito. Cierra la apertura con unas puntadas a mano.

3. Cose el cuadradito de tal manera que llenas unos de los agujeros del pañuelo, y haga lo con tantos cuadraditos que quieres.

TUTORIAL

Cut 4 or more ovals/petals

Sew them two by two right sides together

When sewing the last two ovals/petals together leave an opening to turn the ball inside out

Fill in the ball with sagex balls (the pouff effect)

And voilà!
