Crochet bracelet - with a tutorial

I found this great tutorial from Karen klarbæks verden's blog, to make super cute crochet bracelets - it's just in danish so I'm not sure I got it all right (moreover that I'm no crochet expert)...but there were plenty of pictures to illustrate each steps

My humble attempt to translate both the danish to english and the crochet to nkitkat's crochet style..

- 39 chain stitches (=row 1)
- starting from second stitch from the hook, single crochet a row (= row 2)
- turn around by doing 3-4 single crochet in the space between row 1 and 2
- single crochet all along row 1
- at the end : 5 chain stitches to do the loop, then slip stitch to attach it to the bracelet.

Take another color, single crochet all around the bracelet, at the loop: single crochet taking the whole stitch so as to cover the chain stitches , do as many as necessary to completely cover the loop.
Then sew a button and you're done.

Any comments/changes are most welcomed ! :-)

Soap bubbles

My son has been sick for the last week... so I was in desperate need of new activities to entertain him: I found this great webpage (from Bubbleblowers.com) referencing homemade soap bubble recipes, I chose this one that worked quite well:

"Stir together 6 parts water, 2 parts Joy dishwashing liquid (this brand works the best), and 3/4 part corn syrup. Store in a covered container"

Hanging fabric hearts

I saw this very nice craft idea in the crafts beautiful magazine of this month - and in this issue there were more projects involving fabrics and sewing than scrappbooking.

I reproduced the hearts with a simpler pattern and added a button

Fastelavnskostume til baby

Here in Denmark, there is a carnival called "Fastelavn", it's lots of fun and all the children wear costumes on that occasion.

For my little baby I took the idea of thredbanger's last video: Monster hoodie project

and applied it to a handmade cape according to the following instructions from a doll artist named runo

Cape instructions
the measurements are for a 80 cm tall baby

Rawrrr!

My Babybag

Coming back to work but feeling like I still had to carry tons of things for baby... I needed a huge bag like the Elodie bag I used during my maternity leave but at the same time, it had to look a bit pro and not to mama like... so I copied the pattern of the Elodie detail bag on a black fabric:

as I didn't know how the bag was originally sewed together, I just sewed the ends at the shoulder and covered it with a white and black piece of fabric

Now the nice thing about this bag, is that my purse (a furla) fits very nicely, without drowning in the bag

A little pocket is handy to keep a little bottle of milk to soothe a tired baby when I have to pick him up from the daycare....

And worn, it looks like this

moreover it hangs on nicely to our umbrella stroller and as the bag and it's weight hang quite low, it doesn't imbalance the stroller

Doorhandle Protector no 2

Back to work, back to the dangerous world of bactery-sharing and having lost my old doorhandleprotector :-(

I made a new one enhanced with a closing feature: a button and an elastic to keep the bacterias trapped

This is a very nice Christmas present we received from the person who takes care of our son: a little piece of art with his hand print.
Thank you very much!
